Biographical Notes:
 Jim Nulman, an AV rated attorney with over 25 years litigation experience, is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Certified Family Law Mediator. He is also certified as a mediator by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and is a Florida state qualified arbitrator.
In 1980, Jim began practicing law in New Jersey. In 1983 he moved to Florida and joined the Fort Myers firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. Jim practiced with Henderson Franklin until March 2006. For over 25 years, Jim practiced civil litigation, including a wide variety of commercial litigation and all aspects of construction litigation.
Jim started mediating in the early 1990s and, in 1995, became certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator and as a mediator before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. In 2006, he became a Certified Family Law Mediator.
In March 2006, Jim established Nulman Mediation Services, Inc., a practice dedicated solely to providing mediation and arbitration services. While in the early years of his mediation practice, Jim mediated mostly commercial and construction disputes, over the years that has broadened significantly. He now mediates a wide range of civil disputes, including: business disputes & dissolutions; business torts; class actions; condominium disputes; construction disputes; copyright & trademark matters; corporate & partnership disputes; eminent domain; employment discrimination; employee restrictive covenants (non-competes, non-solicitation and non-disclosure); fraud; HOA matters; legal malpractice; medical malpractice; negligence and intentional torts; personal injury; probate, estates & trusts; real estate disputes; real estates brokerage disputes; stock broker disputes; trade secrets and wrongful death.
In addition to mediating, Jim often serves as an arbitrator. He is state qualified and is regularly appointed as a non-binding arbitrator by the Twentieth Judicial Circuit Court. He also serves as a binding arbitrator.

RATES & PAYMENT INFORMATION |
Rates: $150/party per hour with 2 parties;
$120/party per hour with 3 parties;
$100/party per hour with 4 parties; and
$475.00 per hour with 5 or more parties, divided
equally amongst the parties.
A "party" is defined as one or more persons or entities who have a common interest and who are represented by a single attorney or firm (or lead counsel and local counsel, or insurance defense counsel and independent counsel). TRAVEL TIME: There is NO charge for travel time for mediations conducted in Lee, Collier, Charlotte and Hendry Counties. For mediations conducted outside those four counties, there will be a charge for travel time at $150.00 per hour, divided equally by the number of parties. If an overnight stay is necessary, lodging and food will be billed at their actual cost. Effective January 1, 2009, rates will be $175/party per hour with 2 parties; $135/party per hour with 3 parties; $110/party per hour with 4 parties; and $500 per hour with 5 or more parties, divided equally amongst the parties.

Payment: Credit is extended to counsel only, who are primarily responsible for payment. As a result, counsel are requested to have their clients bring a check to the mediation, or to obtain sufficient retainer funds from their clients in order to cover the mediation fees.

Cancellation Policy: If scheduled for a half day, a cancellation fee of two hours time will be charged at the applicable rate if cancelled less than fourteen full calendar days before the scheduled mediation date. If scheduled for a whole day, a cancellation fee of four hours time will be charged at the applicable rate if cancelled less than fourteen full calendar days before the scheduled mediation date. Cancellation fees apply regardless of whether the cancelled mediation will be rescheduled. Cancellation fees will NOT apply if Mr. Nulman is able to schedule another mediation in place of the cancelled mediation. The same cancellation fees apply to arbitrations.
