Biographical Notes:

Mark Shelton received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond in 1974, where he was a scholarship athlete who started at cornerback on a Spider football team that cracked the AP top 20. After attending evening classes, he received his law degree in 1979 from South Texas College of Law, where he was a Magna Cum Laude graduate, an Editor and published Law Review member, an Honor Court Justice, a member of moot court teams and the recipient of the highest grade in the Civil Trial Advocacy Course.

Mark became licensed to practice law in Texas in 1979, in Florida in 1980 and has been a member of The Texas Bar, The Florida Bar, The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Supreme Court. Other memberships include the Florida Windstorm Insurance Network, the Florida Circuit-Civil Mediator Society and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

Mr. Shelton earned his Board Certification as a Florida Civil Trial Lawyer in 1985 and kept that certification in force until 1995. In 1991 he became a Florida Certified Circuit Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator, in 2006 he became a Florida Windstorm Insurance Network Certified Umpire, in 2013 he became a Florida Supreme Court Certified Appellate Mediator and in 2015 he became a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. Mark has earned and maintained the highest available preeminent (AV) attorney rating from the Lexis-Nexis and Martindale-Hubbell directories and is listed as a highly regarded expert in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of Law and Leading Attorneys Florida Consumer Guidebook. Over a period of twenty-five years Mark Shelton has served as a mediator, arbitrator or umpire in several thousands of matters.

RATES & PAYMENT INFORMATION

Rates:
Regardless of the number of parties, our services will be furnished at the rate of: $990.00 for an a.m. or p.m. session (not to exceed four (4) hours) (with a minimum charge of $600.00 for an a.m. or p.m. ADR session lasting no more than two hours); and $1,980.00 for an a.m. and p.m. session (not to exceed nine (9) hours) (with a minimum charge of $1,350.00 for an a.m. and p.m. ADR session lasting no more than five hours).

Locations: ADR sessions may be held at our office in Lutz or at any location agreed upon by all parties. Mr. Shelton's on-line scheduling calendars are noted to show where an ADR session may be scheduled on any available day.

There is no additional fee for travel to and from ADR sessions within seven (7) Tampa Bay area counties. Travel for any session outside of Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk or Manatee Counties will be billed at the rate of $75.00 per hour.

Payment: Each party's attorney, if any, shall be responsible for timely payment of each party's fees. The full payment shall be due within 15 days of receipt of the invoice (for mediation, usually at the end of each mediation conference) unless other arrangements have been made.

Cancellation Policy: If an a.m. or p.m. ADR session is cancelled less than seven (7) days before the date of the scheduled conference, a $250.00 fee will be charged. If a session scheduled for both the a.m. and p.m. is cancelled less than seven (7) days before the date of the scheduled conference, a $500.00 fee will be charged.
