Biographical Notes:
Terry has practiced law in Gainesville for 38 years since graduating from law school at the University of Florida.
He is admitted to practice law in Florida, Georgia, United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the United States Supreme Court, and Eleventh and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal. He has served on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee and Fee Arbitration Committee for the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Mr. Silverman maintains an active litigation practice, including personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and business litigation. He believes that a mediator who also litigates and tries cases has a better understanding and appreciation for the issues that attorneys in his mediation conferences confront.
In addition to being a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit and County Court Mediator since 1996, he has also been a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator since 2003.
Over the past 16 years, Terry has served as a mediator in thousands of civil cases with the vast majority resulting in settlement. His mediation practice covers all of the Northern Region of Florida.
His office is designed to accommodate the attorneys and their clients utilizing his mediation practice. Those cases have consisted of complex multiparty disputes that include personal injury, wrongful death, nursing home liability, sexual harassment, commercial, contract, employment, product liability, insurance, real estate, construction, foreclosure, probate disputes, and post-dissolution disputes.
